Nordic-Baltic Hydrogen Corridor

Estonia Takes a Step Closer to Building Hydrogen Infrastructure
Elering has submitted an application to the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Communications to initiate a national special plan to determine the possible conditions for constructing the Nordic–Baltic Hydrogen Corridor (NBHC) on Estonian territory. This is an important step that helps position Estonia in the future energy landscape.
The decision to initiate the national special plan will be made by the Government of Estonia within 90 days. The estimated time for preparing the plan is approximately three years.
Why is this important?
- Hydrogen is a key technology for achieving the green transition and energy security.
- NBHC will connect the Nordic and Baltic regions, creating a unified hydrogen market and supply network.
- The project opens opportunities for Estonia to attract new investments and industries.
